Thumb splint for rhizarthrosis to relieve nocturnal joint pain at the base of the thumb and limit the progression of osteoarthritis.
Does your osteoarthritis thumb pain wake you up at night? Get a good night's sleep with the EPITACT® thumb splint!
At night, or whenever you're not using your hand, the EPITACT® rhizarthrosis thumb splint relieves joint pain at the base of the thumb and limits inflammatory flare-ups. It is indicated for mild osteoarthritis.
This patented semi-rigid orthosis holds the painful joint in a neutral resting position. This reduces the forces exerted on the joint and limits the progression of rhizarthrosis.
92% of users experienced pain relief when wearing the EPITACT® thumb splint(1).
(1)Study conducted under bailiff's supervision in May 2016 on 182 respondents.
Wash splint before 1st use.

How do I care for my splint for rhizarthrosis?
The thumb splint can be washed by hand with soap and water at 30°C (do not scrub). Do not use detergents or stain removers (bleach, acetone, solvents, etc.). Do not chlorinate. Do not iron or steam. Do not tumble dry. No dry-cleaning. Discard and replace as soon as fabric or seams show signs of deterioration.
Rhizarthrosis, or osteoarthritis of the thumb, corresponds to wear of the cartilage of the joint at the base of the thumb at wrist level (trapeziometacarpal joint). This irreversible damage causes pain and progressively reduces the ability to perform daily activities. In the most advanced cases, the thumb may become deformed.
Can a thumb splint be worn during the day?
The EPITACT® thumb splint for rhizarthrosis is specially designed to provide relief at night, during periods of rest and during inflammatory flare-ups. Wearing this type of semi-rigid orthosis serves to immobilize the joint, and is therefore not compatible with daily activities. That's why EPITACT® has also created a flexible orthosis that provides daytime relief while maintaining hand mobility.
How do I choose the right size?
Using a tape measure, measure the circumference of your hand just at the base of the four fingers (do not include the thumb). Then transfer the measurement to the size guide.
