Don't let your osteoarthritis keep you from your activities: stay active with the EPITACT® thumb orthosis!
The EPITACT® flexible thumb orthosis relieves osteoarthritis pain at the base of the thumb, while maintaining full functionality of the hand. It can be used for mild osteoarthritis or between two inflammatory flare-ups.
Thanks to its patented technology, which encourages the thumb to return to its resting position, it limits repeated microtrauma to the joint. This facilitates certain previously painful movements (carrying a bag, holding a telephone, etc.).
Over 90% of users experienced pain relief with the EPITACT® soft thumb orthosis for rhizarthrosis(1).
(1)Study conducted under bailiff's supervision in October 2014 on 174 respondents.
Wash the soft thumb orthosis before 1st use.
Do not use near a flame or incandescent material.
The device must be worn daily for optimum effectiveness.
Do not use the orthosis on a skin lesion.
In the event of severe edema: monitor the hand during use. Remove the device if it is too tight and impedes circulation. If in doubt, ask your doctor or pharmacist for advice.

How do I care for my EPITACT® thumb orthosis?
The thumb orthosis for rhizarthrosis is machine-washable at 30°C, or hand-washable (without rubbing) with soap and water. Do not use stain removers (acetone, solvents, etc.). Do not chlorinate. Do not iron or steam. Do not tumble dry. Do not dry clean. Discard and replace as soon as fabric or seams deteriorate.
The EPITACT® soft thumb orthosis is specially designed to provide relief during the day, while enabling you to carry on with your daily tasks. At night, the thumb may be unconsciously placed in a position that encourages pain. That's why a rigid orthosis* that immobilizes it in a suitable position is preferable.
Using a tape measure, measure the circumference of your wrist just at the base of your thumb. Transfer the measurement to the size guide. If you hesitate between two sizes, choose the smaller one.
Can I drive with the EPITACT® rhizarthrosis thumb orthosis?
The Active Thumb Orthosis enables you to perform all voluntary grasping gestures. It is therefore possible to hold a steering wheel, use a telephone, cook, etc. On the other hand, the orthosis limits the small movements we make with our hands when talking or walking. Although these movements are minimal, they can have an impact on the duration of osteoarthritis attacks in the thumb.
